FASHION: The School boy shorts

The Schoolboy short(above) also known as ''above-the-knee shorts'' is another summer item that every guy must add to their wardrobe.

Why you ask? Well, it's summer and these shorts can be paired up with just about anything and I mean anything.

Whether it be a shirt or a simple Tee and even a blazer with loafers and sneakers can make a boy short more appealing.

Furthermore, these will make any guy stand out from the rest of crowd who are not bold enough to show off their legs.

If you aiming for the IVY League look or the Yacht look this summer, then look no further than getting these shorts.

ENTERTAINMENT: IZIKHOKHO SHOW - Jason & Senzo busted

Mdu Ntuli is the genius behind these cartoons which diss South African personalities from our favourite or maybe not so favourite after the World Cup soccer star Teko Modise to Generations first gay couple Senzo and Jason and Omo's very own Nkanyiso.

My favoutite cartoon out of all the one's created is the one about Senzo and Jason(no homo) which is hilarious and pokes the light side of the TV screen couple.

Enjoy.

DRIVE: Mini Countryman coming to SA

The much anticipated Mini Copper Countryman is finally heading down to SA shores in 2011. This beauty is the first 4-door Mini Cooper out of the full range since the car came gained momentum and popularity locally and internationally.

The Countryman is the first Mini to come with four doors and a large tailgate, as well as an interior offering space for up to five people. The new Countryman is also the first member of the Mini family with a body measuring more than four metres in length and which can be ordered as an option with all-wheel drive.

With these features, in addition to the Countryman’s raised seating position, the new car intends to take the Mini brand into new dimensions and win over additional target groups.

Two petrol-powerd models will available when the car goes on sale later this year. Both the Mini Cooper Countryman and the Mini Cooper S Countryman, are powered by the brand’s proven 1,6-litre engine, producing 90 kW and 135 kW respectively.

The optional Mini All4 all-wheel drive allows the driving fun to continue off the beaten track as well. The permanent all-wheel-drive system’s quick response to changing conditions promises to deliver new handling talents for which MINI is famed. An electromagnetic centre differential positioned directly on the final drive varies the distribution of power seamlessly between the front and rear axles. The All4 system is available for the Cooper S Countryman only.

The new Audi A1 – Sportiness and individuality in the compact class

Audi is introducing a whole new dimension to the premium compact class. The new Audi A1 is a dynamic and individual vehicle that condenses all of the virtues of the brand down to less than four metres – a design full of character, uncompromising quality and pioneering efficiency technologies. The agile chassis and powerful engines make the A1 the biggest news in the segment.

The Audi brand stands for automotive passion. With its agile chassis and powerful engines, the A1 is the sportiest car in its class, and this is readily apparent at first glance. The design is unique and modern. Styling cues placing the A1 in the Audi family include the side line with the distinctive roof arch, the coupe-like C-pillars, the large wheel wells and, of course, the front end with the typical single-frame grille.

The hood and rear hatch encompass the body; the tail lights are three-dimensionally moulded and present an unmistakable design, day or night. The interior of the A1 is also sporty and of high quality. Customers can customize numerous details to tailor the car to their personal tastes.

Audi’s latest model has a broad portfolio of advanced technologies on board; its infotainment system sets new standards in the segment. The A1 is the first premium automobile in the small compact class – a true, fully-fledged Audi.

The new Audi A1 is due for South African release in the first quarter of 2011.

In this modern age that we are living in, we have seen a huge transition in terms of living space, where previously with our Grandparents and Parents space was limited but BIGGER was better from the entertainment units to the dining table and chairs.

Blacks becoming more wealthy

According to a daily broadsheet newspaper blacks are becoming more wealthy and are increasing their share in the stock market. Share ownership by previously disadvantaged South Africans is rising, according to a recent study by economists.co.za

According to Sowetanlive, some 36% of assets owned by South African individuals comprise shares listed on the JSE Securities Exchange.

Looking at the ownership of the JSE by segment including foreign ownership from 2000 to 2010, the study found that the biggest story in the last decade had been the explosion of foreign ownership of liquid South African assets.

“Along with many other emerging market countries foreign investment into the equity market has become very popular by foreign institutions,”

Black ownership had increased slightly during the period from 22% to around 23%. (Black here included Coloured, Indian and African, according to the researchers).

This is an indication of the growing capacity of more blacks becoming players in the stock market field which in previous times was dominated by white investors.
